Name: Solid Red with Naga
The body of this hand-reeled, naturally dyed, handwoven shawl is a rich, solid red, made from the natural dye lac (khang in the Lao language). The solid of the body of the scarf sets off the complex borders of woven Naga (mythological river serpents) and flowers. Simple additional rows of hooks (representing fishing hooks, stave head, pumpkin or pea vine tendrils or any other such curls in nature) border and finish the textile.
