This narrow shoulder cloth has been dyed exclusively with indigo. There is light blue fresh indigo, dark blue long-fermented indigo, and teal from a large amount of indigo to water proportion fermented for 4-5 days then the silk is soaked for 30 minutes in the dye, the silk is taken out and the dye is heated, then the silk is put in for another 30 minutes. Lovely color! The motifs of this cloth are of diamonds of flowers and small triangles on a line that represents naga (mythological river serpents) that are female spirits, with small birds and flowers, separated by lines of stripes and stylized butterflies. Handwoven of village raised, hand reeled, naturally dyed silk, the cloth comes with a photo of the weaver wearing her piece.
