This is a wider shoulder cloth that is handwoven from village-raised, hand-reeled, naturally dyed silk. The motifs are quite intricate, including saang hong (spiritual elephant-lions) carrying a temple with candelabra on top and an ancestor spirit inside, pregnant with a two-headed naga (spiritual river serpents), with two baby birds under its belly. When used in a shamanic ceremony. When used in a shamanic ceremony, the spiritual creatures assist the shaman in reaching the spirit world to bring back as ancestor spirit to help with the ceremony. This woman's shoulder cloth can be used as a scarf, wall hanging, or table runner. The edges are decorated with silkworm cocoons cut to resemble flowers. The textile comes with a photo of Souksakhone, the designer and natural dyer, wearing her creation.
