Name: Raspberry Saang Hong
An unusual raspberry-red background hilights this naturally-dyed textile with ancestor spirits on the back of Saang Hong (mythological elephant-birds). The remainder of the textile is filled with diamonds of flowers, zigzagging hook patterns, and a wide end border of geometric representations of Naga (mythological river serpents), and the water pattern. The tassels are silkworm cocoons cut to resemble flowers with twisted silk threads matching the colors of the textile as "stamen". A photo of the natural dyer modeling the textile outside of her home is included.
