The unusual ground for this textile is a lovely warm lilac, a color usually used as an accent color, but in this textile, sets the tone for the full piece. The color is a true lilac, and lighter than shown in the photos below.The patterns are naga diamonds and stylized flowers. The textile is handwoven from village raised, hand reeled, naturally dyed silk. It was woven to be made into a skirt and worn by a Lao woman, but it also makes a wonderful wall hanging. The bright white and pastel colors depicting the patterns is unusual for a Lao textile and truly striking. Comes with a photo of the weaver modeling her textile.
