Older handwoven bamboo tobacco basket, with deep patina from being cured with smoke and years of use. Top and bottom have central, oval wooden plate. Handmade rattan straps tie the wood to the bamboo casing. Rope wrap is newer and made of commercial cotton string. The tie has a "lucky coin" attached (as is common); coin is Francais Indochine 1938" but authenticity is unknown. Good condition but note damage on end of one top edge (see photo).
