Name: Tall Katu Spirit Mask
A tremendous "primitive," this oversize protective spirit mask of the animist Katu people (sub-group: Ta-Oi) has hung for an unknown number of years in a village in southern Laos. These hanging spirits are traditionally used to frighten evil spirits from inhabiting a temple or home. Age unknown, but thought to be at least 2 or 3 generations old.
