Naga and Siho Altar Cloth
Name: Naga and Siho Altar Cloth
Item#: 14181
This altar cloth is woven of locally-raised, hand-reeled, naturally-dyed silk in the style of the Shaman's Shawl, but has a decidedly shorter length that can better accommodate laying across an altar. The motifs are the curly-tailed naga (river serpent, emblematic of female energy) and the two-headed siho (mythological elephant-lion, emblematic of male energy). Excellent discontinuous supplemental weft weaving marks this textile as extra sharp and precise. Photo of the designer and dyer is included in the purchase.
Size: 49" x 30" (125 cm x 76 cm)
