Brown is an unusual color for any textiles in Laos, and it was wonderful to find one. This handwoven, villages raised, hand reeled, and naturally dyed scarf is hi lighted by white triangle lines which represent naga (mythological river serpents) creating diamonds filled with two-headed naga and a center diamond of flowers. The brown ground really sets of the bright and light colors of the motifs, and makes for a lovely wall hanging, scarf, or table runner. This piece comes with a photo of the weaver wearing her textile.
