A rich burgundy backs the large figures of saang hong (mythological elephant birds), powerful spiritual figures with both physical strength of the elephant and the ability to travel between the worlds with the hong. The figure is pregnant with multi-colored hooks representing the rainbow belly of the hong bird. An ancestor figure in a temple is on the saang hong's back and a baby hong under its belly and surrounding the primary figure. This textile is handwoven using village raised, hand reeled, naturally dyed silk. The textile comes with a photo of the weaver wearing her textile.
