Name: Red Village Story Cloth
This large textiles is of a village life scene including silk reeling, cotton spinning, weaving, dancing, buddha, temples and birds, alms giving, boat racing, ceremonial drinking, children playing, music, story telling, carrying water, pounding rice and other daily activities. The textile is made from village-raised, hand-reeled silk, naturally dyed, and handwoven on a hand built loom. The primary red color is made from lac, the resin exuded by a scale bug. Textile comes with a photo of the designer and natural dyer wearing the textile.
