Name: Large Indigo Batik Wall Hanging
Indigo dyed hemp that was village grown, hand peeled, handspun, and handwoven borders the center batik panel on this lovely wallhanging. The batik is made with a wax resist, indigo dyed, and then hand and machine appliquéd and was originally used as the decorative shoulder section on a Black or Blue Hmong woman's jacket. The batik panels were upcycled into this lovely wallhanging allowing the beauty of the textiles to continue to be seen, Backed by natural-colored cotton, and with a Chinese astrology "coin" decorations.
