Name: Indigo Batik Wall Hanging
Indigo dyed hemp that was village grown, hand peeled, handspun, and handwoven borders the center batik panel on this lovely wallhanging. The batik is made with a wax resist, indigo dyed, and then hand and machine appliquéd and was originally used as the decorative shoulder section on a Black or Blue Hmong woman's jacket. The batik panels were upcycled into this lovely wallhanging allowing the beauty of the textiles to continue to be seen, Backed by natural-colored cotton, and with a Chinese dragon "coin" decorations.
