Name: Hand-made fishing net with creel
Used freshwater fishing net and creel. The net's frame is made of bamboo with rattan ties; the net itself is woven of natural piat vine. The fishing creel is woven of bamboo; top and edges of creel have been reinforced with a woven (wood-colored) plastic strip. Original owner's cotton string (to tie basket at waist) is still attached. Excellent patina from years of actual use. Net has a few small holes (as can be seen in photographs). Made and used in Houaphon Province, Laos.
