Name: Blue Diamonds of Flowers
This primarily blue and white, diamonds of flowers pattern shaman cloth has an almost purple overtone. While the spots of color in the pattern contribute to the complexity of the textile, the predominance of white camouflages the naga (mythological river serpent), hong bird (mythological bird who's belly is a rainbow), and the fish tail motifs. Handwoven of hand reeled silk, naturally dyed, and handwoven on traditional hand-built looms, this textile carries the traditions of the Lao Loum and Tai Daeng people who live in the region. Comes with a photo of the natural dyer and designer, Phout, wearing the textile.
