Name: Multitude of Naga Shaman's Shawl

Item#: 14187

A bright, exquisitely handwoven shaman's shawl woven of village-raised, hand-reeled, naturally-dyed silk. This meticulously-woven cloth displays the motif of the naga, a river serpent that in Tai Daeng tradition is emblematic of female energy. The cloth displays a spark of spring green that brings the entire palette to life. The ends are fringed with silk cocoons that have been turned into flowers. The natural dyer and designer is one of Laos' most recognized textile artists, and the photo of her holding the clothe is included with the purchase.

Size: 89" x 30" (226 cm x 76 cm)

Origins: Xam Tai, Houaphon Province, Laos
