Magnificent heavy hardwood hand-carved elephant with lumbering gait and rich, reddish brown body. The elephant possesses a regal personality and a convincing gravity. It is made of Mai Dou (red sandalwood) that wass harvested from our friend's property near Tat Kwang Is in northern Laos. The master-carver lives in Luang Prabang Province, Laos, and his photo is included. Long, wooden tusks are removable for safer travel. The statue weighs about 12 lb (5 kg). Price includes XL shipping to 48 states.
