Name: Orange & Blue Naga Twist
Zowee! This is a wild textile with wild color combinations depicting twisting and turning motifs. This is a new pattern designed and naturally dyed by Souksakhone. The motifs are traditional - naga, the spiritual river serpents often depicted in Lao/Tai textiles. However, how they have been designed is new. There are two headed naga that are intertwined in a usually contorted manner, and two-tailed naga filling triangles of diamonds. The unusual bright orange and blue accenting the white twisting two headed naga and the occasional splash of deep red keep they eye moving. Handwoven from village-raised, hand-reeled, naturally dyed silk, this piece will jump right off your wall or wake people up when you wear it to the symphony. Photo of Souksakhone with the textile comes with the piece.
