Name: Champagne Pop Wide Shaman Cloth
The motifs are traditional - two-headed pregnant naga (spiritual river serpents often depicted in Lao/Tai textiles - the pregnant component is shown by the alternate colored flowers making up the body of the naga) and curled tailed naga. The naturally dyed color scheme is part the special treatment of this piece. The primary champagne color on deep blue, plus the bright yet muted accent colors take on a misty quality similar to that seen at the Taj Mahal. Handwoven from village-raised, hand-reeled, naturally dyed silk, this piece will bring life to your walls. Photo of the designer and natural dyer Phout wearing the textile comes with the piece.
