This Yao necklace can be worn as intended, or the chains can be removed and the neck ring can be worn alone, with either side to the front. The full necklace has 1937 French Indochinese coins, bells to ward off evil spirits as the woman is walking down the path, and fish and triangle tokens representing important icons in the Yao belief system. The chains are hand made, as is the entire piece. The "ears" of the neck ring are engraved with a bird head design.
