Name: Women's Gathering Basket
A small, dark women's gathering basket with a forehead strap and a beautifully worn warm patina, this is an excellent example of a traditional basket seen throughout Laos for use in collecting greens and other vegetables while out in the fields and jungle. This basket is not only well constructed of bamboo with rattan ribs, but it has two extremely well-executed repairs (one is visible on the bottom right of the second photo) that, other than color, is virtually undetectable. The skill involved in this repair is unusually good for a basket of any type.
