Name: Teal Two-Headed Saang Hong
Phout is the natural dyer and designer of this hand woven, hand-reeled silk shaman cloth. The figures are two-headed saang hong, or mythological elephant birds, pregnant with naga/nak/ngeuak, the mythological river serpent. On a deep teal ground, the multiple naturally dyed colors of the politically powerful saang hong, pregnant with the female spirit of the naga, create a mesmerizing pattern of balanced spirits. Comes with a photo of Phout wearing this textile.
