Name: Red Dzao Bib
Red Dzao women wear this "bib" or dickie under their jackets in place of a blouse. This decorative wardrobe accessory is highly embroidered and decorated with silver-colored metal decorations, in this case eight rows of aluminum "half moons" also bordering the top portion of the bib, a crescent with bells in circular and flower patterns, and five square embossed breast plates in a silver/gold colored alloy. The bottom hand-embroidered portion shows off the woman's skills, and, when her jacket is tied up, this portion is displayed. The embroidery is on handwoven cotton, with commercial red and white cotton stripes.
