Name: Katu Beaded Loincloth
A graphically stunning Katu loincloth in red and black cotton, woven on a backstrap loom with white glass beads that are woven, not embroidered, onto the weft threads. This is the traditional weaving and clothing style of the Katu in southern Laos. The women wore beaded skirts and shirts, and both men and women dress in traditional cloth for ceremonial purposes.
