Name: Indigo Batik Hemp Yardage
This is a new piece of village grown, handspun, handwoven, wax resist batik, indigo dyed hemp yardage. It is 4 yards 1 foot long, and over a foot wide. This piece would have been used in Lao Cai Province by the Flower Hmong people to make a woman's highly pleated skirt, with additional panels of embroidered hemp or cotton. Sturdy, beautiful, and traditional, this can be used to make a vest, pillows, or to add to your own skirt.
