Name: Green/Red Box of Naga
This Shaman Cloth is woven with a red warp (vertical threads) and a green weft (threads that go from left to right), creating that lovely shimmer upon movement that we associate with silk. On top of that are supplemental threads creating patterns of diamonds of Naga (mythological river serpents) - called box of Naga pattern locally. There are also two-headed, pregnant Naga of both triangle and diamond head varieties, and Ancestor Spirits in the middle of the diamonds of Naga. Lovely rich naturally dyed colors complement this hand-reeled, hand-woven silk textile. Comes with a photo of the weaver modeling the textile.
