Name: Embroidered Black Hmong Baby Carrier

This double-layered, embroidered and appliqued Black Hmong baby carrier is made from commercial cotton with wax-resist batik, then indigo-dyed . The precisely batiked materials is appliqued with cotton diamonds and stripes of red, yellow, and white fabric. The bottom portion of the carrier is double layered, and bordered by red commercial cotton. The top portion is framed by black commercial cotton with applique and white embroidery for contrast, and the middle panel is hand embroidery on indigo cotton with red,white, and blue cotton applique and multicolored silk and cotton embroidery in traditional patterns. Long blue cotton straps are attached to wrap around the baby and the carrier's body. Beautiful, sturdy, authentic, functional.
