Name: Deep Salmon Healing Cloth

Item#: 15308

This is a man-woman healing cloth - a cloth so named as the center section is plain weave (all one color - deep salmon), and the ends, while woven with the same pattern, have different colors to represent each gender - the dark blue side is male, and the multicolored side is female. The patterns included in this piece are predominantly naga (mythological river serpents). The patterned sections are filled with different forms of naga, from diamond to triangle headed, and from pregnant (different colors making up the body), or not (solid color body). There are also stylized flowers in the borders and tiny ancestor spirits between the naga. You can see the ancestor spirit on the woman side in the center diamond - the figures in the exact center are ancestor figures with their fingers pointed up. The center diamond on the man side also represents a lantern to light the way to the ancestor world. A picture of the artist modeling her textile is included with purchase.
