Name: Dark Yao Pompom Bib
This is a fully embroidered Red Yao woman's bib, traditionally worn under her jacket in lieu of a shirt, but now usually worn in addition to a shirt, has dark brown with a greenish tinge pompoms attached around the entire bib. The length is measured from the bottom of the neck loop to the bottom of the bib, so overall length, depending on whether displayed or worn, will add another 3 inches or so. The white embroidery thread is cotton, the purple and black are silk, all hand embroidered on indigo colored cotton. The bib is additionally decorated with rows of aluminum half moons, and handmade, hand-embossed, brass breast plates. Part of daily wear for all Red Yao women in this region of Vietnam.
