Name: Bright Blue & Orange Naga Cloth
An eye-popping rendition of a traditional healing cloth pattern, this textile is filled with curled-tailed naga (mythological river serpents), and flowers. The textile was woven using a steel comb, so the fibers are more densely packed giving a weighty and rich feel. The naturally dyed, bright blue naga pattern in discontinuous supplemental weft design alternates with the bright orange and solid blue continuous supplemental weft patterning, following the traditional healing cloth design. This textile has the more complex "woman" coloring design on the ends and the more solid "man" coloring in the middle rendering a rich, complex appearance. Beautiful on the wall or worn, this textile comes with a photo of the natural dyer and designer wearing this scarf.
