Name: Akha Shoulder Bag
A hand-knotted bag made from the piat vine, growing wild in the jungle mountains of Laos where the Akha people live. This bag took at least 15 hours to make, from gathering the vine, soaking it to rid it of the non-fibrous material, dying the pattern, and then knotting the bag and weaving the double straps. This is an authentic piece of traditional Akha artistry.
