Name: Large Lao Loum storage basket
Older storage basket woven and used in the village by members of the Lao Loum ethnic group; used for clothing or rice. Tight, triple-wall construction, with mid-wall of tobacco leaves to deter rodents and insects. All original, including handwoven head-strap, except for two village-replaced handles that slide over lid. Gorgeous patina. Handmade off wood, bamboo, and rattan. About 50 years old. Very good condition; slight damage on corner of lid. Price includes oversize shipping within 48 states.
